I found my love for the ice about 20 years ago when some friends from work talked me into getting some gear. I got into fish within the first few minutes and it was all over, I was addicted! With ice fishing for me it is all about the challenge and the process to find the fish, battle the elements and come off the ice safely with your catch.
Fishing has been a part of my life as long as I can remember starting with fishing for trout with my dad at four years old. It has always been a part of me. My love of the outdoors is only getting stronger and I am sharing that passion with my daughters/nieces/nephews/friends. Live to fish and fish to live is my motto. I am truly happiest when I am out on the ice chasing crappie or walleye and even open water if I have to. . On January 20th 2018 I had the opportunity to work a family ice fishing day with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. It was a great afternoon drilling holes and helping kids gear up to catch fish. I look forward to many more days like this to come.
My future goals include promoting the message of Pink Fishing and doing my part to “Reel in the Cure”. I also want to bring the love of the sport to a new generation. It is also in my short term goals to apply my knowledge and skill to ice fishing competitions where I can bring the message of Pink Fishing to a larger audience and build my network.
I am very honored to be a part of the Pink Fishing Ice team so I can do what I live to do and promote cancer awareness and research.
